Quite possibly the youngest player to hit the court in the entire showcase, Maia was a serious factor for Brimmer. At just 12 years old, Hamblett was out there shooting the ball like a seasoned vet. Her assertiveness, consistent mechanics and unwavering nature make it hard to belove she’s just a 7th grader.

Hamblett is a recent discovery, but a name that has a chance to crack the top 10 player by the next update. Her polished shot mechanics are quite impressive. The consistency in her form, particularly her release and the accuracy that follows is something thing that can only be built through dedicated time in the gym. Maia is also able to get create her own opportunities as well as catch in movement. Teammates regularly find her in rhythm on the wings. Defenders have to respect the shot, so Hamblett’s change of speed dribbles, head-fakes plus her hesitation moves keep players guessing, allowing her to carve out the necessary space to get lane penetration. Maia’s defensive ability shouldn’t be glossed over either though. Her low center of gravity, along with her willingness to embrace physicality on contact fluster her opponents. Maia is a confident shooter who consistently knocks down three-pointers, even with defenders contesting her shot. She has a smooth release and holds her follow-through well. Around the basket, Maia is a crafty finisher who understands angles and body positioning, allowing her to finish effectively while keeping the ball away from shot blockers.
