A quick and shifty point guard that loves to attack the basket. Makayla uses her speed and quickness on her first step to accelerate and never looks back. She is a solid ball handler that controls the tempo well and gets after it defensively.

For two straight tournaments (last live period at Select Events in Ohio) I have watched Makayla do a great job not only sharing point guard duties with Zoey Cochran Zoey Cochran 5'7" | PG/CG West Wilkes | 2030 NC , but also play off the ball on the wing with Cochran. Once again, Griffin came off of screens from different areas of the half court and got downhill where she hit pull up jumpers, floaters, and got to the basket and scored routinely. Defensively, Griffin has the ability to stop opposing point guards from initiating their team’s offense by disrupting their dribble and making passes very difficult. She forced ball handlers to pick their dribble up early several times stopping whatever they were trying to do from the start. She is another player who has no problem being vocal on the court whether she is yelling “ball” or “help” on defense or getting her teammates into the right play in the half court and baseline/sideline out of bounds situations.

Makayla Griffin Makayla Griffin 5'5" | PG North Forsyth | 2029 NC is an excellent ball handler knowing how to read the floor, attack the open lane, or find her teammates for the pass.  She hustles after the ball even crashing the boards and grabbing rebounds.  She communicates well directing her teammates where to go to get a play going or how she can help on defense.  She has some nice range with her shot, too.

Makayla Griffin Makayla Griffin 5'5" | PG North Forsyth | 2029 NC is the type of player who just does what’s needed and knowing the right moment to show her versatility on the court.  She can attack the basket taking it all the way herself getting some tough points at the rim or make the perfect pass to her teammate as defenders collapse around her.  She’s quick on defense making a jump on the ball and scoring in transition.
