About Makayla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to play strong defense, especially getting blocks and rebounds. I'm also a very good shooter and passer, so I can contribute on both ends of the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I always play with the mindset that everything I do is for God. I stay focused, work hard, and stay coachable. I'm dedicated to constantly improving and being a great teammate, on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of basketball, I'm actively involved in my church, which helps keep me grounded and focused. I also have a strong passion for weightlifting, which supports my athletic performance and discipline. I'm always looking for ways to grow, whether it's through leadership opportunities, helping others, or staying committed to my goals."

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've developed leadership and teamwork skills through serving at my church and going on mission trips, which taught me the value of putting others first. I also love spending time with my teammates outside of basketball, building strong relationships and team chemistry. I always try to lead by example—whether it’s through hard work, encouraging others, or staying positive no matter the situation

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college where I can grow as both a student-athlete and a person. I want a strong basketball program with a team-first culture, coaches who will push me to improve, and a school that values faith, academics, and character. Florida is home, but I'm open to new places and excited for any opportunity where I can make a real impact on and off the court.
