Makiya Trusel Makiya Trusel 5'6" | PG/SG Oakleaf | 2025 FL went three for six from the three point line and finished with 23 points in one of her games in the Clay County cup. She’s always shown the ability to score the ball and can do so from multiple areas on the court. Trusel gives great effort on the court- on offense and defense. The Senior guard also grabbed 7 rebounds from the guard position. Trusel is a player who impacts the game in multiple ways. Throughout the season the versatile guard has led the team in assists. Recently, the team’s highest scorer went down with an injury and since then Trusel has picked up the scoring void and averaged 20 points in her last three games. Over the summer, we coined Trusel as the biggest surprise at the PGH Expo. No more catching anyone off guard. Trusel is a baller who rises to the occasion.

Makiya Trusel played well in the Orange Park preseason classic, displaying a potent midrange game to go along with her three point shooting and her ability to get to the rim. Trusel also commits to playing on both ends of the court. She has quick hands, quick feet, and plays in the passing lanes. Trusel is poised for a big season this year. She and teammate Weston could become a duo to be reckoned with on the First Coast.

Makiya Trusel played well and was in the running for the top players in the Expo. She has played well over the past few years, but she took her game to the next level. She rode the momentum off of a very good travel period and stood out on defense and offense. Her ability to handle, shoot, score, and defend turned heads. She came in as someone that was barely known to a player whose name will be remembered for her performance at this year’s Expo.

Trusel was one of the top guards in the building and she was a standout for sure (Top 10). Trusel did a little of everything and one way to gauge her is how she played against the top talent in the building. She ripped one of the best handlers and made the short J against one of the top defenders in the building. She was steady all day with good ball handling in both hands. She got to the rim going left and right, and her midrange jumper was sweet. Trusel played well in all areas and was a standout.

Trusel handled the ball well, shot the ball well, especially in the midrange, and made some really nice plays. She showcased her high basketball IQ and made some great passes with great anticipation. Trusel’s pull-up jumper was as good as anybody’s. She did a good job of running the show from the point guard position and played with a high level of control, self-belief, and the mentality of a leader.

She does a good job of handling the ball and has the ability to knife through the defense with her ball handling skills. The aggressive Trusel also makes plays for her teammates. She does a good job of dishing to her teammates when she draws the double team. She plays a tough “in your face’ defense and comes up with a lot of steals. She creates scoring opportunuities off of her aggressive defense.
