Great defense can sometimes be overshadowed, especially during a showcase, but it was Sanders defense that caught my eye and led to her inclusion on my list of Top Players from the Expo. Possessing good size, strength, and lateral quickness, Sanders style of defense gave whomever she was guarding fits as she accounted for double digit steals over the course of the afternoon. As a sophomore, Sanders averaged 2.7 steals per game and she is the type of player that, as a coach, you cannot afford to be without on the floor.

Sanders is an athletic wing who can do a little of everything defensively. She has the athleticism and length to defend multiple positions and make plays on the ball. Her length stood out defensively, and she has the lateral quickness to stay in front of her assignment defensively. Sanders also excelled playing in her team’s transition offense.
