Simmie Colson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Tate has been steady since I’ve been watching her over the past couple of seasons, see evaluations here, yet at the Simmie Colson Classic as well as the Clash Of The Clubs, I’m watching her continue to turn corners. She also impressed @playerrimidies at the Space City Slam, yet at the CLASH her “catch and shoot” was smokin, plus her “no look” passes in traffic had me SMH

Tate is a game-time performer who consistently finds ways to score, whether in the half court or in transition. She plays with agility and feel, getting into gaps to create offense, while forcing defenders to stay honest with her ability to knock down the three—showcased early on Day 1 of Space City Slam when she got hot from beyond the arc. Defensively, she is elite and composed, bringing steady pressure and control on that end of the floor.

Tate has already shown me she could score see evaluations here yet watching her doing it under pressure, instinctively was nice and shows what she’s becoming. Her poise in the clutch and just watching her mannerisms were on display. The slight HEZ to attack and score, the stop and pop in transition along with playing the passing lane were pluses galore

Tate has a knack for being able to do things that change the momentum by either playing the passing lane that leads to buckets or a defensive stop, but she uses her athleticism well on both ends, and her pull-up jumper looked good. She has good court vision in the set as well as in transition, and she hits the boards on both ends

Tate is showing she can find ways to put the ball in the basket, starting with her first step to attack and finish, after contact included, as well as dropping the short jumper along with the long-range. She also showed good court vision in both the set and transition. Her “on the ball” defense looked good, so does her upside

Tate gave me the crossover in the open court as well as in the set and THAT is going to create problems for defenders, especially with her using the HEZ as well. She scored off the dribble, had nice body control on her finishes, created her shot, and dropped it from outside plus she played the passing lane
