, helped North Hall to a very good overall showing against the top teams there. Wyse is a very good shooter from three and she did plenty of that scoring in each game from beyond the arc. It was her finishing inside and with her left hand several times with a great effect that proved to be her best weapon the two days her team played. Malorie played almost as a stretch four at times and she was able to use her quickness and footwork to get by bigger, slower defenders on the perimeter and score at the rim. Defensively, She was outstanding on the ball in North Hall’s full court pressure defense, something they do the majority of the time make or miss. When the Lady Trojans did score and opposing teams took the ball out, Malorie made their lives very difficult with her wingspan and activity. She deflected multiple inbounds passes and stole a few as well. When the ball did get inbounded she applied the same pressure in their traps causing several turnovers. Wise had an excellent freshman season for North Hall and has garnered praise for her play this Spring with Redline. She is a player that in state college coaches should take a serious look at over the next three years as she will definitely play in college. The only question is, what level will she play on. Time will tell.

Wyse brings plenty of hoops wisdom with her to the hardwood. Versatile frontcourt forces are a reason why Redline Basketball Club was one of the more dangerous groups among the 15U field. Wyse may spend time at the three but especially thrives as a combo guard. Her rim-attacking capabilities are a testament to this reality. Wyse’s abilities as a rebounder only compliment what she does as a scorer and she displays lots of toughness with her willingnss to draw contact to get to the free throw line. This past season, she was a freshman at 3A North Hall and was one of four from the class of 2029 who sported Trojans green.

Wyse scored the first 10 points of the game for her Redline Athletics team. A player that showed she can outwork her opponents and score at any given time. A player that can shoot the deep 3 ball but also slash through the defense and get to the basket. A player that knows how to manage the game and wants the ball in her hands in crunch time. Playmaker.

Wise is a player who really impressed me multiple times during the high school season with North Hall. She was very active, like a magnet to the ball on defense, and shot the ball extremely well from three point range against stout competition. The freshman never backed down and seemed to enjoy the tense moments when those games were on the line. Her play was critical in North Hall’s upset win over GAC as she played excellent in that game. She was very good running the point for Redline’s 15U team this weekend. I had seen her make one impressive drive to the basket and finish with her left hand in high school, but she showed she is a lot more than a shooter this weekend. She scored off the bounce getting to the rim several times and mixed in shots from the midrange while still being a threat from deep. Wyse will be ranked, and fairly high, when the new rankings are released in the next month.

Wyse’s length immediately stands out on the perimeter. She uses her wingspan effectively to disrupt passing lanes, contest shots, and protect the rim from the weak side. Offensively, she showed the ability to attack off the dribble and create for teammates. Her versatility allows her to play multiple positions, and she consistently plays bigger than her listed height. A high-upside wing.

Wyse impressed me very much the first time I saw her against GAC with her constant movement and activity. Wyse does an excellent job defending in North Hall’s press with long arms and active hands. She did a nice job anticipating passes and jumping in the passing lane. Offensively, Wyse is a very good shooter and more than capable driver who can score at the rim. Malorie finished the game with 14 points including four- three point shots made. She is a very skilled young player with a bright future alongside fellow freshman guard Ball.
