#35 – Perhaps one of the more underrated guard prospects in this class, Wilson put together an impressive body of work the summer with the MN Crossfire 2030 squad. All summer the 5’4 floor general showcased her aggressive on-ball defense, skilled handles under pressure, and smart decision making when the ball is in her hands. Over time we’ve also seen Mattea grow and evolve as a scorer. These days, the Shakopee freshman doesn’t hesitate to attack the rim or showcase her high-arcing three-point shot. Clearly willing to put the work in, Wilson has plenty more potential left to tap into. She’ll be a player to watch for the Sabers in the coming years.

Wilson (pictured above) gave a great performance at the Freshman Showcase. From her ability to spark her team’s offense. to forcing stops on defense, the Shakopee freshman’s two-way impact was plain as day. Something else that jumped out was the growth in her assertiveness on the court. From the beginning of the AAU season to now, Mattea is a totally different player. These days, the 5’4 point guard is playing with a newfound level of confidence. In addition to her skilled playmaking, Wilson didn’t hesitate to display her high-arcing three-point shot or her explosive burst of speed on the drive. We can’t wait to see where she takes her game from here.
