Fall is finally here and that means one thing for the month of September; the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase. This year's event, which was held at Maple Grove Middle School on Sunday, featured more than 90 players from around Minnesota. With this being one of the deepest classes we've scouted in recent years, the level of play was outstanding and many players made their case for a spot in the upcoming Freshman 50, our initial ranking of the 2030 class that will be coming out in a few weeks. As for this week, we'll be releasing our evaluations on most of the players who were in the gym on Sunday, one team at a time. Here are the highlights from Team 7, part 2.

Wilson (pictured above) gave a great performance at the Freshman Showcase. From her ability to spark her team's offense. to forcing stops on defense, the Shakopee freshman's two-way impact was plain as day. Something else that jumped out was the growth in her assertiveness on the court. From the beginning of the AAU season to now, Mattea is a totally different player. These days, the 5'4 point guard is playing with a newfound level of confidence. In addition to her skilled playmaking, Wilson didn't hesitate to display her high-arcing three-point shot or her explosive burst of speed on the drive. We can't wait to see where she takes her game from here.

Abosi's game has loads of potential. Standing at 5'9 and possessing plenty of strength and athleticism, the Benilde-St. Margaret's freshman was quick to look for her shot on Sunday. Leyah found seams in the defense, attacking the rim with a full head of steam. Once she got to the basket, the Diamond Elite wing either finished off two feet through contact, or recognized the double team and quickly got the ball to an open teammate. Her persistence was key, though. Even when the shots weren't falling, Abosi continued to find open looks, share the ball, and make hustle plays on defense.

Following a strong summer with the [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury']'s 2030 Yellow squad, DeBoer came into the Freshman Showcase ready to make an impact. The 5'8 guard was quick to look for her shot from beyond the arc, make sharp cuts towards the rim, or deliver well-timed passes to her teammates in transition. Briella's skillset is still somewhat raw, but with a long, lanky frame, plenty of quickness, and a solid understanding of the game, we think she's just scratching the surface of her full potential. As for this season, the Southland freshman could certainly see playing time with the Rebels sooner rather than later.

Lakeville North has a seemingly endless pipeline of players who stand north of the 6-foot mark. Stanley is yet another who meets that criteria. A long, mobile forward with a solidly built frame, Elena's presence on Sunday was felt most strongly on the defensive end. The Panthers freshman was active all afternoon, using her long limbs to front the post, block shots, and disrupt the passing lanes. And when tasked with guarding much bigger and stronger opponents, she showed no hesitation. With some more development in her skillset, Stanley is a player who could be a factor for Lakeville North in the long run.
