About Maya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I believe fundamentals are a very important part of basketball. I love to play fast. I love playing defense. I also love to pass the ball and cheer on my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am easy going, fun, kind, trustworthy and very likable person. I am a hard worker on and off the basketball court.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Sports have made me develop many qualities such as teamwork, leadership, volunteering at community functions. Also being a dependable person with a hard work ethic.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My youngest sister was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes one year ago. It was very challenging for our family. Together we learned about the disease and developed a plan so that my sister can have a normal life and play sports.

Custard came on strong last season for the Lady Cards after missing time due to transfer restrictions. Once she was on the court, Maya was the second leading scorer for Scott County at nearly 9 points per game. The Custard family are known to be good athletes in the Georgetown/Cynthiana area and Maya is no different. She uses a quick first step to get into the paint and score. If Maya can improve her three point shooting as a Junior, she should have a monster Junior season.
