About Maya
Expert Analysis

The Swarm looked a lot different on Sunday with a talented 6’3” girl in the middle. Already a very good team, the only thing they lacked on Saturday was interior defense. Maya is great on the offensive glass, is capable of reaching out with one arm to get the ones that are just out of reach and bringing it in for a bucket. Has good shoulder fakes in the post, can score with contact. Can get tunnel visioned at times about scoring, but as she improves on passing out of double teams its going to make her prep and Summer teams very hard to guard.

A great physical presence in the paint, this legitimate 6’3” post player brings size, strength, and effectiveness around the basket. She has good hands and displays a soft touch on her shot out to about 10 feet.
For her size, she runs the floor well and is comfortable playing in an up-tempo system. As her high team plays that style.
She first caught my attention several weeks ago at a local event. Her performance that day made her a player to watch.

Great size and quickness for a 6’3 post player. A true physical inside player that fills the lanes on break showing her quickness for a center. Good hands that catch any pass thrown in her area. Scored points this past weekend by cleaning up miss shots with offensive putbacks. A must box out player on the offensive glass. Showed nice 10–15-foot mid-range shot against zone defense.
Strong physical defender that held down the block when the offensive player posted up. Shot blocking or just alternating the shot made if difficult for offensive players to get clean looks on drives. Another 2027 whose stock should rise as her guards look to go inside out in the offense.
