Expert Analysis
Grant McGinnis | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Long, smart, and fiercely competitive, Jenkins is among our most improved 2026 forwards. At 6 feet with great reach and verticality, she defends, rebounds, and blocks shots at a high level. Jenkins isn’t a volume scorer but she excels around the rim – snapping up offensive boards, finishing put-backs, and scoring with touch. Ranked #79 (and climbing), Jenkins is a tough, intelligent competitor with a nice all-around game. She’s vocal, driven, and excels academically with a more-than-impressive 34 ACT score. That’s a number that will have just as much influence in determining where she plays in college as her basketball ability.

Maya is a long lengthy rebounder. Can grab the offensive board. Really nice turnaround with a smooth touch at the rim. Knocked down all 3 free throws I saw her shoot in this game. Did her job effectively, Like her potential to continue to grow her skillset.

#95 – The lengthy prospect from Eastview is the highest-ranked newcomer and the only one to crack the Top 100. At last year’s Expo, we called Jenkins an “emerging talent.” What a difference a year makes, particularly after a summer on the PGH Circuit with the Minnesota Bobcats . At this year’s Expo, Jenkins absolutely killed it. Her compete level is excellent. Her length is impressive. And her development curve is well worth watching. Maya has made the top prospects list now but she has the potential to climb her way up the ladder in the months ahead.

Another Team 2 player who left it all on the floor on Sunday was Jenkins. The 6’0 forward from Eastview brought a tremendous amount of competitive edge and hustle. One of the first things you notice about Jenkins is her sheer amount of length, which she uses very effectively on the defensive end. We got to see her block several shots down in the low post. Maya is vocal both on and off the floor, and quickly took to a leadership role in the showcase setting. While she doesn’t score a ton, the Bobcats forward is highly opportunistic in that regard. If she grabs a loose ball or a long rebound on the offensive end, she doesn’t hesitate to attack the basket; same goes for offensive put-backs. We look forward to seeing Maya become a more assertive force on the floor with Eastview this winter. She appears ready to take a leap forward in her development.
