Cooley is a shooter. She can stand behind the three point line and shoot all day, but her super skill may be leadership. She has been a primary scorer and facilitator for Ouachita for three years and every year she gets more dangerous and adds to her bag. Cooley is a relentless competitor on both sides of the ball, and it seems that the more physical the game, the more she enjoys it. She plays with a smile but competes like it is all out war. She is a three-level scorer, and I am not sure at which level she is the most efficient, because she is efficient at all levels. Plenty of coaches have taken notice, and her offer count rises almost daily. Cooley is the player that opposing coaches game plan to stop, making her dangerous in any game. She will play college basketball at the next level.

McKenna has great shot mechanics from the footing all the way to her release point. She has one of the best jump-shot forms I’ve seen, and I believe that’s what makes her shot so consistent and deems her a reliable shooter. She’s never just in one spot either, she moves around frequently and creates open shots for herself.

Cooley is the primary ball handler, demonstrating excellent control with limited turnovers. When defenders back off, she stays poised and confident, which allows her to create scoring opportunities for herself and teammates.

Cooley is a “long and athletic” guard, which is the base, and let me start with her rebounding on both ends and going coast to coast, at times using the crossover in the open court to get by defenders for the “stop and pop” jumper or just finishing at the basket. She also showed she could score in the set by attacking the basket, she also dished off the dribble, and showed good timing to block shots

was easily the player with the highest ceiling moving forward at the 15U level that I had an opportunity to watch compete this weekend. She has length, athletic ability, and a mixture of skill to go along with both of those things. All weekend long Cooley had her offensive ability on display at all three scoring levels, her defensive prowess in both the half and full court setting, and quick decision making when the ball was in her hands. This team went undefeated this weekend against the best competition there. Cooley was their leader each game, wether she was their leading scorer or not and it showed. There is a lot to look forward to down the road for this one. She just has to keep doing her thing.

showed a lot of promise in her teams contest today. Cooley is a lengthy and athletic combo guard, who can handle the ball and attack off of the dribble, or pull up from three off of the catch if she has time. Her size and speed are impressive. Just by watching her for a few plays you can tell that she already has the physical abilities to play at the next level. Over the next few seasons, if she works on the right things and expands her game as a guard, while growing simultaneously, she is going to be a player to be known on a national level. No other way to put it.

The Lions’ connection of her and Simpson did 5A Ouachita Parish proud over the weekend in Georgia as My Sister’s Keeper 2026 went a perfect four for four for the weekend. Cooley had a 10-point showing against South Carolina-based Tempo Sports Academy 2026. Coaches particularly appreciate it when top-tier players make their presences known in the second half of close contests. Seven of the 10 points Cooley placed on the scoreboard were placed on said scoreboard in the second half. Cooley and Simpson are two of the three Ouachita Parish participants on this year’s My Sister’s Keeper 2026 roster.
