Lewis can play quite a few positions on the court. As she’s athletic and skillful on offense, but importantly held it down for a shorthanded squad of 6 that made the trip down from Nebraska. Has a fun blend of power and quick jumping, which was evident when she crashed the glass and swatted shots as a do it all impact player. On offense she’s just as likely to hit a three as to square up and attack off the bounce. Uber productive player, with next level athleticism. It’s tough to pigeon hole Lewis at just one position, because she’s simply a ball player. And a very good one at that.

I am not sure what coaches are necessarily thinking out of the Midwest by not offering or at least looking at McKenzie Lewis McKenzie Lewis 6'0" | CG Omaha Benson | 2027 State NE of Omaha Benson High School. Lewis is a mismatch nightmare at 6’0. Lewis is not only tall, she is the strongest player out of the 2027 Class and she is determined whenever she is competing. She can be your Forward, that sits underneath and killers her matchups with her size or she can pop up to screen and shoot off of that screening action. Some of the toughest players out there when they get older are players like Lewis. Those players that no matter what, they will make it happen for themselves in life and that’s what we could have here with the correct guidance. Lewis is currently one of the leaders throughout the state in multiple positive statistical categories and I don’t expect that to slow down to finish the season.

McKenzie Lewis McKenzie Lewis 6'0" | CG Omaha Benson | 2027 State NE of Omaha Benson is a 6’0 CG with good touch on the basketball, with steady skill as a scoring and defensive threat, and she is someone that is truly a walking mismatch because of everything mentioned above. Lewis can play the 2, 3, 4, or even 5 spot depending on the lineup around her on the floor at the time. She currently possesses one Division-1 offer at this time but more could come over the next twelve months if she does her thing this Winter and then takes that momentum into AAU season along with her. She has been the top dawg at Omaha Benson for years now and that shouldn’t change over the next few months.

It’s easy to see the future potential and skill in McKenzie Lewis McKenzie Lewis 6'0" | CG Omaha Benson | 2027 State NE ‘s game-style. Lewis stands at 6’0 and she combines that height with physicality, a guard-like skill-set, and a tenacious attitude. At the Varsity level, this is someone that is a mismatch nightmare on both sides of the ball. Offensively, she can score from all levels around the court. Defensively, she can wall-up against bigger opponents or she can stick with a smaller guard on during a switching situation if need be. It’s really whatever you need out of her from a coaching perspective. Lewis currently holds one D1 offer from down south in Florida. If she continues to do her thing and grow in her weaknesses, who knows who else might come calling.

McKenzie Lewis McKenzie Lewis 6'0" | CG Omaha Benson | 2027 State NE of Omaha Benson High School picked up her first D1 offer when Jacksonville came into the conversation a few weeks ago. Lewis competes like a D1 hooper. She has great size and muscle mass at 6’0, she is versatile and can play inside or outside, and she can definitely impact a constant on both ends. Lewis puts up good numbers each Winter she competes with the Bunnies and that will continue on until she graduates. There are not many who can make her in the 1v1 aspects of the game and that is noteworthy to others who are paying close attention.

The combination of size and skill-set that McKenzie Lewis McKenzie Lewis 6'0" | CG Omaha Benson | 2027 State NE possesses is noteworthy. We have said that from the first day of her Freshman year of high school. This is someone who can dominate her personal matchups in a number of ways. She can go to work and play with her back to the basket with her size but her game-style is more of a guard. She can attack off the dribble to create, she can finish through contact on either side of the bucket, and she can pull up for a jumper when she has adequate time. Lewis has had a successful AAU season so far individually. She is putting up some respectable numbers and that production should translate back to high school ball come June.

One of the most promising players as an all around complete prospect last Winter was McKenzie Lewis McKenzie Lewis 6'0" | CG Omaha Benson | 2027 State NE of Benson High School so it’s not surprising that she comes in ranking high on this type of list. Lewis is a physical player, that knows how to use her mixture of size and finesse to beat almost anyone matching up against her. This is someone that could turn into the best prospect out of her Class by the time she reaches her Senior season if she has the correct guidance and determination to improve over these next few seasons. As a Freshman she averaged near a double-double with 11/9 and I think she is only going to get better with time but we will have wait and see. Either way though, right now there is no doubt she is a top prospect in more ways than one moving into this Fall.

A strong physical player that plays hard and aggressive on both ends of the floor. A very athletic player listed at 6’0 that can play the outside and inside. Showed a nice mid range game with face up jumpers and taking the defender to the rim 15 feet out. Great size allows her to defend a much taller player on the post if needed. Excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor. Possible double double every time she plays
First time seeing McKenzie play and definitely a player that will be keeping up with as she is a 2027 playing up A source mentioned to me that McKenzie has relocated to the Kansas area. I am sure my counterpart Robert Kelly @pghkansas will be following
