The Southwest Wisconsin native is a versatile guard/wing who can handle the ball on the perimeter and create off the dribble. The lefty is also capable of spacing the floor on the perimeter as an off-ball player who can complement ball-dominant guards and help open the floor for them. There is also plenty of room for her to grow as she continues to find her footing against higher-level competition. She will continue to develop over her four years of college.

The Shullsburg native is another Southwest Wisconsin talent who made the journey across southern Wisconsin to get to Mequon. Russell is a fairly fluid athlete for her size, did a solid job in the skills portion of the event, and looked more comfortable than I may have expected with some of the ball handling work they did. I also thought she flipped her hips well and changed directions better than I thought she did. I was more impressed with her than I thought I’d be heading into the event.

The Shullsburg native is playing for a new AAU program this spring and is finding her footing with a talented group. Russell is a versatile wing who can handle the ball and make things happen with the ball in her hands. However, she is playing an off-ball role with Team Prime Nation , and we’re seeing a new side of her now that she’s playing with a more talented group of scholarship talent. She has all the physical tools to be a player who catches people’s attention.

A 6-foot combo guard with size, length, and instincts, Russell is one of the more intriguing 2028 prospects in Wisconsin. The lefty from small-town Shullsberg made an immediate impression Saturday morning with a three and a steal to open play. A coach’s kid with a feel for the game, she defends with focus and anticipation, and brings a steady, versatile presence to both ends. McKinley can turn the corner off the bounce, finish with footwork around the rim, and shoot it cleanly from deep. Ranked #14 in Wisconsin’s Class of 2028, she’s a high-upside guard to watch.
