Hopkins immediately caught my attention against Woodinville when she splashed in a deep 3-pointer. Although Bothell came out on the wrong end of things, Hopkins still stood out as one of the more polished players in the game, deploying a variety of moves and footwork to create space away from the hoop. She has a soft shooting touch and was able to hit from different areas too. She shot well from 3, made a nice move from the post to plant her foot and spin away from the defender for the jumper, then showed she can cover some ground laterally with a nice step back in the midrange to bury another shot.

How do you think your AAU & HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?rn-I think it went very well for me. I learned a lot about myself as a player, and what I need to stay consistent on to be successful while playing. I also showed myself I can work through the highs and lows of basketball. I am super excited about my upcoming season, and feel confident. I’m very excited to get going and do the best I can.
What are some things that stand out about your game? Things that coaches can see and know you excel atrn-Something I think stands out about my game is my ability to score at all three levels. I am not a huge player, but i can use my strength to go inside and be successful. Another thing I think stands out about my game is my intensity, it doesn’t necessarily show in the books but affects the game.
What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?rn-I am looking for a tight knit team, that has a family feel. A competitive environment with people who are also my good, close friends.
Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?rn-I have been in contact with schools at all levels and sizes.
What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?rn-I want to improve my outside game more on the ball handling side. It is something I see as a weakness of mine, and want to be able to bc successful more as an outside player.

Mckylee scored well in the tournament, at least one of the games I saw. She did it from all levels, hitting a couple of threes and getting tough baskets inside. She has that toughness to her game and is able to fill the stat sheet. Her intensity and effort won’t show up on the sheet but it always shows up in the game. Her talent is top notch, combine the two and you have a prospect that is a winner. I saw some great up and under moves off of drives to the paint. Cross overs, and spins, which are all effective. Her strength is a big part of being able to score from all levels.

This 2024 Bothell standout impresses me every-time I see new highlights of hers. She plays tough, tough defense. She can stay in front of the ball handler easily and provides a huge spark with the many turnovers she causes. She is hard to guard on the offensive side of the ball given her ability to adjust to what the defense is giving her. She has one of the highest basketball IQ’s in her class.

McKylee is already a top player in the entire 2024 class as she can do it all. She’s well rounded on the offensive side of the ball, being able to score at all 3 levels efficiently. She finds her teammates nicely on the court too, always having her eyes up. Defensively, she is a menace. She will play very tight defense and get into the opposing players heads by causing many turnovers. She has fantastic lateral movement as she can turn her the ball handlers easily and recover fast. She is one of my favorite players to watch.

A super skilled player who can do a little bit of everything at a high level. She is a shooter who excels in the mid-range with the ability to pull-up off the dribble and get buckets. She has good ball handling skills that allow her to either get to her spots and pull up, or catch and shoot, which she does quickly. She can rebound and get you blocked shots with her high level intensity on defense. A grab and go type player who can take it coast to coast and score. High ceiling player who plays hard. She led Bothell to a state tournament appearance this season, losing in the opening round. The type of player that will use that as a motivational tool for next season.

She is full of potential and has some of the best overall skills and versatility that you will find in the tournament. She can do it all and has some size and length to go with it. Bothell brings a balanced scoring attack but she is the most likely candidate to bring the most.

Bothell has been a very solid team this year, being 9th in the 4A RPI rankings currently. Hawkins has been playing extremely well during her junior year campaign. She has an excellent pull up mid-range shot as she is able to stop on a dime quickly. She is able to drive with either hand, finishing efficiently with both. Against Mount Si, she dropped 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds on the night.
