Meekins was the MVP of the 2A-D1 Conference, and her 30 points led her team to the state championship. Although I hadn’t seen her, it didn’t take me long to realize what I was looking at. She handled the ball and saw the floor under pressure but her first step to attack the basket and finish strongly was among the best I saw all week. She dropped to long range, 5/7 from deep and she came away with 4 steals but her poise JUST DID IT for me
