About Melanie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is driven from a winning mentality. I am a hustle player that knocks down shots efficiently and I always make sure to communicate with my team. I like to catch and shoot and shoot of the dribble. I am also good at attacking gaps in the defense to score and the rim or pull up for a mid range shot. I am also a great passer and often set my teammates up for open looks.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received numerous non-sport awards. I received the Student of The Year Award in Algebra I, Geometry, Adv. Algebra II, Adv. World History/Geography, Concert String Orchestra, Adv. Precalculus, AP Environmental Science, Adv. English 10, Health/PE/Drivers Ed 10, and Entrepreneurship. I also received the Principals Award in 8th grade. As for clubs, I was a member of DECA and Key Club.

Melanie is a good guard who plays with good pace on the floor. She is a good handler allowing herself to sped up by defensive pressure. She does a great job of seeing the floor to find gaps to score, or set her teammate up for easy buckets. She stuffs the stat sheet and she scores the ball in a variety of ways. Was a good contributor for a James Monroe team that made the title game last season.
