Beautiful efficiency comes to mind when watching Mia Spain’s game. The William & Mary commit wastes little movement, making every dribble purposeful, every pass deliberate, and every decision measured. Moreover, her controlled approach allows her to impact possessions without forcing the action.

Having already surpassed 1,000 career points, Spain has established herself as a Division I talent. Now, the next goal is a deep playoff run culminating in Richmond.

The left-handed sister of the two William and Mary commits. Mia is a sharp shooting combo guard with NBA range and the audacity to let it fly from there, her game is not based solely on range, though as she’s comfortable getting downhill and finishing from either side of the paint.

Spain is a dynamic scoring guard with a natural ability to produce offense. The left-hander is a pure shooter with deep range and a quick release, who is equally effective attacking off the dribble, using her penetration ability and finishing touch around the rim to keep defenders off balance. Her blend of scoring versatility, playmaking, and leadership allows her to impact the game in multiple ways, making her a problem whenever the ball is in her hands.

The recent William & Mary commit, Spain is a pure shooter.

Her left-handed release makes her jumper even tougher to defend. Spain pairs a quick release with the natural advantage of attacking against a defender’s non-dominant side. Whether spotting up or creating space off the bounce, Spain has the ability to make defenders pay the moment they lose positioning.

While she can finish at the rim with either hand, it’s her left-handed dribble penetration that consistently keeps defenders guessing. By the time opponents recognize the angle she’s attacking, they’re often already out of position and too late to make a play.
