Adams doesn’t score a ton. It isn’t her job on a Nitro team that always puts a capable starting five on the court. Instead, she makes the Wildcats go, go, go. Smart. Strike. Fast. She’ll take her time scanning the defense, before making a move. But, once she makes a move, watch out. Nitro usually scores a bucket on the play. Adams can score if need be. She has some crafty moves around the rim. She is a slasher, who can kick out to a wide open teammate. Adams wasn’t selected for the Class AAA all-state team last season. I would be shocked if the same happens in her senior year.

Adams is a true point guard. A floor general, if you will. She may be the best point guard in Class AAA. Her head is always up. Her mind is always processing information. She doesn’t make a move until she is absolutely ready to make the offense move. She can make every pass. She can get to the basket, but she’s more comfortable as the general. Her impact may not show up on the stat sheet, but she WILL leave a positive mark on any and every game. Her defense is superb. She may need a little time to get stronger at the next level, but she’s crafty and capable when it comes to the college level.

Nitro is one of the teams that we will see again in March. Mika is a leader and she averages right at 4.6 assists per game. In a recent win over Winfield, Adams poured in 13 points and added 4 steals. She leads her team in steals, averaging 3.2 per game. Mika plays with relentless effort on both ends of the court. She is the first one diving for loose balls, and she is the first one to set the defensive tone with her tenacious defense! This kid never stops working and she should definitely have more eyes on her!

Adams was stellar in the win over Chapmanville. Nitro won 54-26 to advance to the state tournament. Mika stuffed the entire stat sheet. She finished the game with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Mika is all heart and hustle on the defensive end. She is going to pick up steals and provide her team with extra possessions. Adams was 4-6 from the 3 point line during this game. She continues to shoot at a high percentage. She will be a huge X factor if Nitro repeats!
