Coming from Mountain Lake, which has an enrollment of just 123 students, we were eager to see how Schroeder would fare against elite-level players from around the state. After taking some time to adjust to the pace of play, the 5’8 guard found her stride and didn’t let up. Mikaya made explosive left-hand drives to the basket, elevated over defenders for rebounds and open looks at the rim, and made some beautiful passes in transition. On each possession, it was Schroeder’s effortless athleticism, natural ability to read and react, and consistent work ethic that made her stand out. What’s more, the Minnesota Rise standout is just scratching the surface of her full potential.
