Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Fast.I have the ability to drive to the hoop, pull up for jumps shots, and hit 3 pointers. A triple threat offensively, making it hard for defenders to defend me. I love to fast break, and can get up and down the court quickly, and I'm fouled often and can finish my free throws. Defensively I am quick and able to lock down. I'm often the one the coach chooses to shut down the other teams best.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I show up ready to work hard, especially on defense. I'm not one to trash talk. I simply go and get the work done and let my game do the talking. I love to build my team up, and I pride myself as the most positive one on the team.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I'm a member of the National Honors Society and participate in 30 hours of service throughout the year. I also participate in Powertap Clogging with Veva's Fab 5 Studio. I recently tried out and made the All-Star All-American Team for 3 individual events. My teams recently won MVP Acapella, and MVP Triple crown. I also run track and took 3rd for Triple Jump at City Championships East Valley.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I recently was selected to attend a Leadership Conference this past Spring, only 5 students from my school were selected to attend. I've used what I've learned to help my teams and create more team work. The service hours I've participated in, allow me the opportunity to help build the community around me. I especially like helping the special ed youth, and different kids in our area.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I was 9 years old my cousin passed away, around this same time I kept getting sick, and we didn't know why. I thought it was all tied together, which made me anxious. I ended up going off of processed food, & started narrowing down why I was sick. It took time and patience, but eventually we were able to figure out what foods were making me sick, and that I wasn't going to pass away.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm interested in Junior Colleges as well as Division 1 Schools. The culture of the school is very important to my decision.
