I am not sure there is a more versatile player in the 2029 class. In fact, she might as well add point guard and power forward to “Position” on her profile. Miya was in her playmaking mode at the showcase and her teammates became the beneficiaries as she sliced her way through defenses off the dribble and distributed the ball with consistency and a little flair. Totherow has very good handles and when she is the primary ball handler for her team, which she was a lot on Saturday, the long lefty looks very natural running the point. Miya does a good job keeping her head up and reading the defense so when the help comes she smoothly gets the ball where the defender came usually resulting in two points. She and Bristol Davis Davis 5'11" | PF Sequoyah | 2028 GA were outstanding together at the showcase, like they have been for years in Union County and during travel ball. There is no question in my mind that Miya will play in college. With three years left, the question is what level will that be?

Miya has the size, length, and skills to do a lot of things well on the court. I have seen her play four positions this Summer and her versatility is her biggest strength. She is a sneaky good athlete as well and plays with a very high motor. I have seen her play about 8-10 times this Spring and Summer and she brings something new to the game each time. Miya does a great job playing on offense with her head up and she was able to rack up the assists finding her open teammates. She made very good post entry passes to Ella Johnson and Paisley Collins Paisley Collins 5'11" | PF/SF Heritage-Ringgold | 2028 State GA from the wing while also driving the ball to the basket and kicking it out for open threes on the perimeter when the help defenders came. Defensively, Miya put pressure on the ball for 84 feet while also doing a good job coming over to trap and jumping into the passing lanes on Tennessee United’s full court pressure defense. She is a three level scorer who also can punish defenses herself putting the ball in the basket. She did a nice job playing unselfish and facilitating while also scoring opportunistic baskets.

Miya showcased one of the better overall performances, stuffing the stat sheet while making game changing plays for her Union County team, of any of the players at camp. She is one of the excellent young players in the UC program that after seeing them compete with “big dogs”, definitely will have a chance to get to Macon next season. She is very quick and plays with great intelligence allowing her to pick the ball from dribblers, jump in the passing lane for steals, and be an active rebounder on the defensive end. Offensively she is very skilled and very long with the ability to score the ball from all the levels with ease while also distributing the ball on the break. Miya’s aforementioned anticipation skills coupled with her effort and competitiveness put her in the right place at the right time for opportunistic plays repeatedly. The biggest being a sudden-death, game-winning put back to beat Galloway.

Rangy lefty has a quick release from beyond the arc. Drills threes at a high rate. Wiry and aggressive. Good feel for the game. Scorer’s touch. Consistency has been her calling card.

Totherow is already a skilled offensive player as a freshman and she does a nice job scoring from all three levels. She is crafty with the ball and finishing around the basket. Miya shoots the ball well from the midrange and the lefty has nice form and a quick release shooting the ball from three as well. Totherow uses her length well finishing in the paint over defenders and on defense blocking and altering shots. She is a player that I expect to continue to develop into a very solid college prospect over the next three years.
