I watched Scout play with Union County, Tennessee United, and in a couple of showcases since her freshman season ended and each time I have walked away with a higher opinion of her as a player. She is never going to be the biggest player on the court, but few players were more effective and impactful in the last few months of watching ball. Henry is one of the better shooters in the state from three-point range and does not need much time or space to let the ball go. She is scrappy and tough on defense and always seems to be around the ball tying up opposing players when they lose their dribble. Henry has no fear of contact attacking the basket and consistently finds ways to score over and around post players in the paint. Pound for pound, Scout is one of the best players in her class in Georgia.

Scout has to be one of the bigger stock risers in Georgia over the last 9-10 months when I first started hearing about her. Having watched her play know for Union County, Tennessee United, and in individual showcases I can say without a doubt she is one of the best 2029 guards in the state. Scrappy is the word that comes to mind with Scout. I can’t count the number of times I have seen her just take the ball from the player she is guarding and if she is near a loose ball you can forget about it. Henry is always around the ball, always in the middle of the action, and always making plays. To compliment her competitiveness and toughness, Scout shoots the ball very well from the perimeter and finds ways to score in the paint and around the basket. Often times, that is turning defense into offense. She is a very important part of a very talented core at Union County that could make a deep run in the state tournament this season.

Henry is a player that plays at a different level with the ball in her hands. She brings the energy and effort every play. Not afraid to defend and guard the best players on the floor. A player that can score at all 3 levels and create turnovers with her ability to be around every loose ball. The first one to the ball on every possession.

Scout is another player who will see their name not only on the next round of rankings when they come out, but her debut will be pretty high on the list after excellent showings at the University of North Georgia team camp in June and finishing the Summer with Tennessee United in Greensboro. She was the best player on the court for a large part of multiple games and her team played some very good competition. As the tournament came to end and other players were running on fumes, Scout looked fresh on the court and her play reflected that not only during that time but early on in the tournament as well. She was nearly automatic from three point range, finished very well at the rim in transition, and also found ways to score by grabbing offensive rebounds and loose balls. Defensively, Henry caused multiple deflections and stills turning defense into offense for her team. She is one of the most underrated players in the state regardless of class, but they will change soon. College coaches saw the same thing I did, she is a dynamic playmaker whose height has no impact on her ability to effect games.

Playmaking is in the Henry bloodline. Scout was fearless against Milton, handling pressure and nearly helping the Panthers to an upset before a late Eagle rally spoiled the fun. The younger sister of former All-State guard Houston Henry (Piedmont; now in transfer portal), Scout is crafty like her brother. She uses her body when protecting the ball, using backdowns and spins to advance forward. She drops off tough assists off the bounce. Scout likes to get to her pull-up jumper but is a pass-first guard. Against Milton she stuffed the stat sheet with 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. I like her future as a high-end table setter in North Georgia.

Scout is the kind of player I would have wanted on my team when I was coaching a few years ago. She is a hard-nosed competitor whose motor never lets up nor does her will to win. She seemed to be in the middle of all the action in the games I watched Union County play and usually came out with a win in each scenario. It was not just her effort, but the productivity that came along with it. She is a very skilled player who displayed the ability to hurt opposing teams from beyond the arc, driving to the basket from the wings and baseline, and finishing on the break over bigger defenders. Defensively she was all out with active and quick hands and feet. The toughness and lateral movement transfers over well from the volleyball court for Henry. She is another young player from Union County I look forward to seeing again.
