About Miyah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I pride myself on defense. I have high energy and work ethic. I am very competitive person and I love to win at every level possible. My defense sets the tone not only for my team, but for the duration of the game. OffensivelyI look to get the best shot possible, while also ensuring I can move the ball around for the best option for the team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a can't quit/lose mentality. I thrive to get better every day. After every game and practice I evaluate myself in my strengths and weakness and always seek ways to improve my game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer within my community. I also am a member of the Juniors Honors Society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed my leadership and teamwork. I have done this by helping others that may not be as vocal or skilled as I may be. I utilize those skills on and off the court as well. I prefer a well balanced environment that will not only benefit myself, but others as well.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that offers the degree path I am looking for in pre-med. I would like to be a part of a team that comes together and considers themselves family. I am open to a big or small school that capitalizes on school culture and are diverse. I also want to be able to contibute on a basketball team that prides themselves in getting better daily and coming together as a team.

My PGH colleague Simmie Colson already noted Ellison’s IQ in a 3v3 evaluation here, but it bears repeating. For a freshman to conduct the offense with such poise alongside brand-new teammates is noteworthy. Her composure and decision-making set her apart and make her a standout at such an early stage. Also noteworthy, is the fact that Ellison will be in the mix in loose ball situations. She repeatedly used hustle plays to earn extra possessions for her team.
