possesses at the SF position has been a factor in her team’s production so far this Winter. Lewis, a prospect who comes into this season right around 5’9, is currently averaging 4.5 Steals per game throughout their first two contests. Now that might be a small sample size but to average near 5 SPG is impressive. It shows that she is doing hard work at the Forward position and beating her opponent to their spots a majority of the time. I’m curious how North Central will fair the rest of the Winter but they have had a respectable start out of the game so hopefully they can keep that rolling with production from prospects like Lewis.
Mya Lewis of North Central High School is an interesting prospect not just because she averaged impressive numbers as a Freshman on Varsity last season but because she she averaged more Offensive Rebounds Per Game than Defensive Rebounds Per game. This isn’t something that is the most common occurrence. Usually it’s a big differential in the favor of Defensive Rebounds Per Game and in this case, it’s about even but Offensive did edge out Defensive as a whole on the season. This just means that Lewis works just as hard around the paint on offense to get the ball, as she does on defense. She still has three more years of Varsity ball to do some damage so it’ll be awesome to see how she grows. If she keeps on working, she has a bright future in-between the painted lines.

has played two games thus far in her varsity career and she is averaging 9.5 PPG, 12 RPG, and 2 SPG. Not to mention, all the intangible energy she is bringing to the hardwood. If there is ever a loose ball on the floor or going into the stands, Lewis makes her best effort to be the first one there. Another factor to note is that in both of these events, Lewis and her team has secured the victory, starting off their season at 2-0. Hopefully they can keep this momentum moving as we getting further into the season. As for Lewis individually, she has a bright future. She just needs to keep working on the correct things and display her high motor on every possession. If she does that, she will continue to have stat lines like this and her team will continue to find success.
