About My’a

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with a calm, controlled pace and let the game come to me. I’m comfortable handling the ball under pressure and creating my own shot, whether that’s pulling up or attacking the rim. I don’t try to force things—I focus on making the right reads and taking smart shots. I can score when needed, but I also like getting my teammates involved and setting them up. My court vision helps me see play

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a focused and determined mentality. I stay confident in myself but always look for ways to improve. I’m competitive and don’t like losing, so I push myself to work harder and stay disciplined. At the same time, I stay composed under pressure and try to keep a positive attitude, supporting my teammates and doing whatever it takes to help us succeed.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a dedicated member of the Interact Club, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility, leadership, and commitment to community service. I maintain a positive and collaborative attitude, working effectively with others to support meaningful initiatives and contribute to the success of the organization.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I volunteer at local elementary schools, where I assist students and support classroom activities. Through this experience, I demonstrate responsibility, patience, and a commitment to positively impacting younger students’ learning and development.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a strong nursing program where I can get good hands-on experience

Watson had the confidence and calm on the ball that only someone who has trained and prepared for the occasion would and her performance backed that up. Watson is very crafty with the ball using shot fakes, pass fakes, jab steps, and double jab steps to get the defender off balance on their initial approach and then her timing and quick burst allowed her to drive by very good defenders multiple times throughout the game. She shot the ball very well from behind the three point line, scored from the midrange, and in transition. When I went to find more out about her, there was very little leaving me to believe I stumbled upon another hidden gem. If her team is playing and I am at the event, then I will make sure I find time to sit down and watch Watson play again.
