Holmes has great bloodlines as her father Michael Holmes had a great career for the Stallions before moving on to the University of South Carolina and Coastal Carolina University. Mykeriyah will work inside to receive the ball and simply chase the ball off the glass on put backs. She understands the more she stays in the paint area and close to the bucket – the more effective she is in the scorebook. As gifted and multi-skilled as Holmes is, one would not have thought last season was Holmes’ first playing organized basketball. Currently listed as an even six feet, she combines height with physicality to present an imposing paint presence. Not only can Holmes score near the basket, she is also likely to haul in rebounds on either end of the floor. Soft hands and a knack for locating the correct passing lanes to get the rock to a teammate is another one of Holmes’ talents. Holmes will play for a 2A Stallions team that will maintain its classification but will move from Region 7-2A to Region 8-2A.

According to Lee Central coach Patrice Holmes, the six-foot big was playing her first season of organized basketball in 2021-22. One could watch her play and think anything but. Her height advantage gives her an edge over plenty of other fours and fives at her age. Holmes provides timely scoring, the ability to bring down rebounds from either the offensive or defensive end and reject shots as a defender. She plays the game with a physical attitude and also knows when to score and when to pass in the low post. Holmes will be one of many 2026s to watch this upcoming season.
