Holmes and her 1A Lee Central bunch were on the bad end of an emphatic defeat at the hands of 5A Division 2 Riverside. She still put forth a winning effort as she led her team with 16 points. The Stallions’ senior understands that playing in the interior means playing with one’s back to the basket on offense. Defensively, Holmes is consistently watching where the ball is. Impressive post moves are another element to her game – as is the ability to draw contact and find her way to the free throw line. She is the lone player from the class of 2026 on this year’s Lee Central roster.

Holmes ensured Lee Central made more than its fair share of noise after dropping from 2A to 1A beginning with last season. Her play was a key ingredient in the Stallions’ winning formula that got the team to the 1A state championship game at the Florence Center. A formidable frontcourt force for the Stallions, she has played at the varsity level since she was an eighth grader. Last season, Holmes played in 24 games and averaged 8.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest. With the number of seniors Lee Central graduated from last season’s team, Holmes will likely be even more of a featured player on both offense and defense for the Stallions.

was strong in the paint attacking the basket and battling against contact. She had some nice moves even showing off soft finger tip rolls at the rim after battling into position to score her points. She was consistently making adjustments based on how her opponents were guarding her.
