Nakaya made a big impact at the Freshman Showcase in Edmond as she was already recognized as a top tier point guard and written about in the “GAMECHANGERS” article so it is no surprise that she is being recognized in the “best ball handlers” article! I don’t want to sound overly repetitive so all I will say is that she handles the ball like a true PG, knows how to create space and can shoot the ball!

Nakaya was yet another tremendous point guard for this team that, to be honest, probably should’ve been sharing some of these shooters with the other teams. She was chosen to be recognized as one of our GameChangers because of her ability to really shift the flow of the game with her confident ball handling and ability to control the game. One of the hardest workers on the floor, Nakaya was relentless on defense and made life really tough on her opponents. When she got hot from behind the arc, so did the rest of the team. That’s when her squad went up by double-digits and the other teams’ shoulders started to slump. Her team fed off of her emotion and the game changed… thus, the accolade. I know Stroud always has some big time guards out there and now I know who the next BIG TIME guard is!
