Metro Christian is the Cinderella story in Class 3A. After a first round loss in Regionals, they had to win five straight in the consolation bracket. Including three games in three days at Area. With the added caveat that all three Area foes were ranked ahead of them. They dusted fellow 918 private schools Cascia Halln and Rejoice with double digit wins. And then squared off against 5th ranked Kiefer. In a game that came down to the last minute, it was Powell who ripped through the lane and scored the game winner. Always a sharpshooter, the Denison University commit has steadily improved her all around scoring the last two years. She finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds in the 44-42 Metro Christian win.

Powell was a walking bucket in the two scrimmages watched. Was consistently money from downtown. Impressively was equally consistent around the rim. She was getting hammered on some her finishes at the rim, and still had the strength and touch to score. The senior looks set to consistently put up 20+ points a night for the Lady Patriots.

Tall combo guard/forward that can flat out shoot the ball from 3 point range. II do like the versatility that she plays with as I have seen nice footwork in the post area as well. Good passing vision in the half court set as the pass were on point to cutters in the offense. Nice mid-range floater off the pull up when ran off the line.
Natalie has strong performance over the summer, receiving several offers before committing to Denison University from Ohio

A combo forward that can shoot the outside shot on the drive and kick action. Handles the ball strong that allows her to get downhill in the paint where she can make things happen. Liked the nice two-man game her AAU team ran she did a excellent job in reading the defense and making the correct pass. Showed some smooth footwork in the post area with some up and under. Great size and scores in multiple ways. A 2026 that earned All-Conference last season.

5’10 forward that showed a strong skill set Saturday. On one possession she was knocking down a 3 with a nice release and the next possession she was ducking her head taking on the contact to the rim. Tough rebounder of both ends of the court that keeps the ball alive. A very versatile player on offense and defense. Good ball handling skills and the vision along with her height as an advantage on the press breaker.

Sharpshooter with great positional size, has seen her overall offensive game grow this winter. The same soft touch she has from the perimeter, has led to the ability to hit in the mid-range and hit feathery floaters on the way to the basket. Along with her offensive output, her height and wingspan makes an effective defender. Capable of helping out in the interior with rebounding too. Is expected to be a popular name this spring and summer after a breakout type campaign for Class 3A Metro Christian.

Powell is a off to a strong start for her junior campaign. With very strong shooting splits, especially from three. This past Saturday, her perimeter shooting was off by her high standards but she still paced her team in scoring. She did that by playing tough around the rim, with rebounds and physical finishing. While also having a strong floater game that extended out to 10-15 feet on drives. Made good strides this year to turn into a consistent, all around scorer.

Was definitely the best on the boards on Saturday, elite level rebounder, especially as a forward. College teams that run a zone could put Natalie on the backside of it and be very happy with the results. Really thought she was key piece of a really solid high-powered team on Saturday.

was also very good on the glass, especially on offensive end). Tough finisher, has the guard skills to be able to get a defensive rebound and bring it up. Came on strong last year for Metro, scoring at all three-levels.

A complete player that can play on the wing or as a small forward Moved without the ball drifting low on ball drives getting the kick for outside 3’s. Caught my eye was the solid footwork in the post area. Great body control on showing up/under, turnaround over the shoulder and pound dribble just to mention several moves used to score with. Cuts to the rim to score on backside cuts.
Nice size for a combo guard that could pick up some interest after her junior season
