The sophomore point guard showed maturity well beyond her years. With Kellis dealing with foul trouble at the guard spot early, Walker had to shoulder a heavier ball-handling role and responded with a composed performance. She logged the full 32 minutes, finishing with 9 points, 4 assists, and a game-high 6 steals, while committing zero turnovers. Her ability to control the tempo, protect the basketball, and create defensive disruption proved critical in the title game.

was outstanding in the Title game. She was very calm and poised for a Sophomore, and was not intimidated by the big stage. She scored on drives to the basket on several occasions and she also showed the ability to shoot from 3 point range. She is a fierce defender that can guard multiple positions. She is strong for a guard, and she is lightning quick in transition. Look for Walker to be a highly recruited player in the near future.

Walker is as tough a player, not just a guard, in the class. She consistently put pressure on the defense, getting into the mid-range and knocking down shots. On defense, she was willing to guard anyone on the court. If there was a loose ball on the floor, she was after it. Nelly is the kind of floor general who leads by example.

Walker is a whole different kind of dynamo—quick, energetic, and an absolute sniper from beyond the arc. You give her a tiny space, and she’ll light you up from three. Plus, she’s got the strength to handle contact and still finish.

Nelly came out and played as she usually does. She was aggressive in the open court and shot it well from the perimeter. On defense, her foot speed allows her to hound ball handlers and force turnovers. There’s not much not to like about Nelly’s game. She is what a coach wants in a point guard.

Walker was one of the smallest players out there, but she played like the biggest. She handled the defensive pressure thrown at her very well by splitting double teams and got into the lane with ease and finished with some nice floaters. She was just too strong for whoever tried to guard her.
