Nyla Carter Nyla Carter 5'10" | PF/C Kenner Discovery | 2029 LA gives me a reason to watch the glass! She has shown she can contribute around the basket and collect rebounds, including offensive boards that give her team another opportunity to score. Those possessions matter, and that’s a foundation I value in a young post player.

For our Millsaps “New Names, Big-Time Potential” spotlight, Nyla is a prospect worth following. What interests me is how much she can build from that rebounding ability. Keep improving your positioning, secure the ball, and become more decisive with the finish.

She doesn’t need every possession drawn up for her to find a way to contribute. Keep developing that game, Nyla—there’s value in a player who can help finish one possession and create another!

Nyla Carter Nyla Carter 5'10" | PF/C Kenner Discovery | 2029 LA is a young prospect worth keeping an eye on! The 5’10” Kenner Discovery post in the 2029 class brings a rebounding foundation that fits right into the “Big Performances in the Big Easy” conversation. Her high school production shows she can make her presence felt on the glass and contribute inside. That matters to me as a coach because securing a rebound can finish a defensive possession or give your team another chance to score.

Carter also earned coaches’ All-District 9-4A recognition as a freshman. That’s a strong step for a young player still building her game, and it gives her something to build on as she continues developing.

For Nyla, the next step is turning that foundation into an even bigger impact—sharpening her footwork, expanding her finishing options, and becoming more decisive around the basket. Those details can help her make the most of her opportunities in a prospect camp setting. There is room to grow here, and that makes her an interesting name to follow. Keep putting in that work, Nyla—give coaches more reasons to remember Carter!
