Odion Otoijaghale
About Odion
Expert Analysis
Marissa Rimbert | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Raw athleticism she uses to excel in transition, consistently finishing plays in the open floor. She does a superb job using her steps and footwork to slip through cracks in the defense and get to the rim. Her ability to convert in motion makes her a reliable scoring threat.

Otoijaghale is one of the most explosive guards in the area, and trust me, that creates problems for defenders because she has SWB and speed with the ball and stays under control. She scores from outside, mid to long-range as well as off the dribble, yet her “on the ball” pressure is smothering at times, see evaluations here

Otoijaghale is not only a “long and athletic” guard, she’s also explosive off the dribble, and her acrobatic finishes after contact are ahead of her years. Her court vision is solid, she can drop the “stop and pop” jumper, and her “on the ball” pressure is more than solid. Oh yeah, she also plays the passing lane

Otoijaghale has that “breakout” capability because, for one thing, she’s explosive with the ball, and her ability to stay under control while going full speed is huge. She finished off balance, and she also showed the pull-up jumper yet her “on the pressure” was nice but even nicer was her “playing the passing lane”

Otoijaghale has made several Tip Sheets from me already in her young career see evaluations here so I won’t talk about her being “long and athletic” and understanding how to use her athletic on both ends because I’ve already said that yet it has to be mentioned she is going to create some issues even though she falls into that #sizdontmatter group. She’s heady, stays under control while being pressured and that pull-up jumper is looking sweeter

Oyoijaghale also falls into that #sizedontmatter group and needless to say, she too can play. One thing that has remained constant every chance I get to see her is that she applies “on-the-ball” pressure off the top each time she steps onto the court and keeps the heat going throughout the event. Her body control off the dribble is nice and helps her finish after contact, plus she plays the passing lane

Otoijaghale is a “long and athletic” guard who understands how to use her athleticism on both ends of the court. Her “on the ball” pressure stood out in both the “1 on 1” drill and the 5 on 5 games, yet seeing her handle the ball in the open court and make good decisions on who to get the ball to was solid. She had a nice first step and attacked the basket from multiple angles, she had nice body control on her finishes

Odion has something special brewing. The 2028 point guard possesses significant speed and is an instant-impact player. Has the versatility to defend multiple positions as her speed translates latterally as well. She uses the length of her frame to get into passing lanes when the opportunity presents itself, using her head to be a better example for her team.
