Expert Analysis
Avi Burmenko | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Olivia is a strong three-point shooter who can knock shots down both off the catch and off the dribble. She has polished footwork in the paint, including a smooth spin move that helps her get all the way to the rim. Defensively, she hustles hard, stays vertical when contesting shots, and consistently impacts the game as a shot blocker.

Just look up Breen’ stats from the season and that’ll say everything about her top 5 position. Breen had herself a coming out party this season with Oceanside. Not only did she prove she was one of the best young players in Maine, but in the region too. It’s rare to see a freshman to put up 50 in competitive hs play.

Breen broke Oceanside’s school scoring record. It was stated in an earlier article that Olivia seemed driven this season and that looks to be an understatement at this point. A 50-point game is absolutely incredible, especially when considering she’s just a freshman. It’s an absolute errand to try to contain the ’29 forward. She’s an influence that initiates the action and leaves a major imprint on the game.

Breen has been on a tear and in her last game vs Medomak she finished with a double-double. She was the leading the way as just a freshman in this blowout victory, but what was most impressive was the manner in which she did so. She started off scorching hot scoring the ball from all over; it almost seemed like she couldn’t miss from her spots. Her 22 points and 18 boards were very telling of top talent. A player with her skillset shooting 90% from the field is absolutely tremendous.

The fantastic freshman has been marvelous addition to her squad. Olivia has been looking quite nice in her new threads as she’s returned back to play for her home state of Maine. Oceanside has one of the best players in all of ’29 and she’s looking freshly retuned. Olivia has been seemingly playing with a chip on her shoulder since her return. It’s unclear if it’s the excitement coming back from injury or just the pure drive to show the opponents what they’ve been missing. However, what’s been obvious is that Breen has been on a mission, displaying a true sense of competitiveness.
The 6’2 forward had 20-point game a few nights back, demonstrating just how versatile of a piece she can be while playing alongside star senior guard Maddie Provost Maddie Provost 5'8" | CG Lawrence | 2026 State New E . It’s hard to argue Breen is anything other than a top 5 player in New England’s talented ’29 pool.

Olivia is a strong shooter from behind the three-point line, and when defenders close out hard, she counters with a smooth pump fake to get downhill. She needs only a sliver of space to get her shot off. Around the basket she finishes through contact, using her body control to make it difficult for defenders to stay in front of her.
