There aren’t a whole lot of pure center prospects in this state, so Davis will bring premium size and skill to whichever college picks her up. They’ll also get great leadership; Davis was voted team captain as a sophomore. She is highly physical on the glass and is a double-double threat. She finished last season strong with an average of 13.5 points and 13 rebounds in her final two games against Banks and Burns in the 3A state tournament — both steps up from her season averages of 8.5 points and 10.6 rebounds that earned her an all-conference honorable mention. She also blocked three shots per game last year, setting the bar very high for a junior year where she’ll help Taft make another run at the 3A title.

caught everyone’s attention when she had a double-double in the very first game of her high school career: 12 points and 14 rebounds in a game at Nestucca. The talented big is an outstanding rebounder, and what is particularly impressive is her offensive rebounding which often leads to her scoring put-backs around the rim with her soft touch. Also offensively, Davis is excellent at running the floor with pace, and she also has a nice outside shot which should prove to be a valuable asset over her four-year career. In another more recent impressive outing, Davis put up a 24-point, 17-rebound double-double to go along with a steal and a block in their win over North Bend. This is an excellent stat-line for any player, but for her to be doing it halfway through her freshman season is a very good sign for her future and the future of the Taft Tigers basketball program.
