Ekwu has made a couple of my Tip Sheets already, see evaluations here, so watching her use her frame along with her strength on the inside to overpower and score was nice, but so was her finishing after using the “hands and footwork” I love seeing players implement. She also gave me another #THROWBACK, the drop step, and that, along with rebounding, defending, and playing the passing lane, had me smiling

Ekwu has a several pluses going for her without even stepping on the court. First of all, she stands at “the magic number” which is 6’0 and why is that magic? Because school has started and I’ve had 7 college coaches asking if I knew anyone who fit that profile, it happens every year. She also has a “college ready” frame so seeing her move fluidly inside the paint to rebound, on both ends, as well as defend was nice, so was her giving me a glimpse of the “hands and footwork” to score. Her timing to block shots also looked good
