Olivia Olivia GA Yancey hustles back on defense being ready to protect the basket. She talks a lot on the court letting her teammates know what they’re running and what defense they’re in. She ran the floor well finding the open lane being ready for the pass in transition when she didn’t come up with the steal herself, but she was certainly getting the turnover on her own at the top of the key preventing offenses from getting anything set up. She has a finesse with the ball in her hands that defenders had trouble keeping up with.

is tough handling the ball attacking the basket from the top of the key and even going coast to coast off of defensive rebounds. She’s a ball hawk on defense running the top of the key defense well pushing her opponents into traps and directing her teammates where to go to be in the best position. She showed off her range knocking down the ball from deep.

Yancey is a confident guard who plays with great pace and control.At 5’8 she uses her size and strength to finish through contact while also hitting from deep.She brings energy and toughness making her presence felt on both ends of the floor. Already catching colleges attention Olivia is a key prospect to watch in the 919 area.

Olivia Olivia GA got the mindset and hustle to be a real utility player and defensive stopper. She moves her feet like a vet in transition D–super active, aggressive and refuses to give up on plays. I saw her make multiple second and third efforts to stop ballhandlers even when they had the edge. Off the ball she’s able to cover on help and recover hard back to her man. Offensively, she’s still finding her rhythm, but here’s the kicker: she’s only been playing basketball for two years! Despite that, she has a clean in & out dribble into one leg finishes with her right hand. Her box score won’t fully show it, but her impact, energy, and defensive edge definitely translate at the next level.

Yancey makes things happen on the court because of her motor and her athletic ability. She shoots passing lanes, she rebounds with effort, and she has a pretty outside shot. Yancey can knock down multiple three-pointers in any game. She can also pressure the basketball and force steals that lead to immediate points for her squad.

Yancey continues to get better and better on the basketball court. She anticipates well and forces multiple steals each game for her team. Yancey has a nice outside shot and a strong handle of the basketball. She makes great decisions for her team. Yancey seems to know when to attack the rim, when to draw contact and get to the foul line, or when to dish to an open teammate. She is a special player with an exceptional future.

She directs her teammates where to go in order to find the open look. She had a nice old fashioned three point play late in the game right when her team needed to create some separation.

Olivia Yancey is a full court threat. On offense, she shows off her handles making some nice hesitation moves blowing by her opponents attacking the basket. On defense, she is sure to strip the ball away from guards trying to get around her. She scores easily off of these turnovers pushing it up the court herself, or she makes a nice pass to her teammates filling in the lanes for their own points.
