Paige is the definition of a dedicated leader — bringing her length, shot-making ability, and attention to detail on every single possession. She was a force in the second half, coming on strong and making her presence felt in every facet of the game. She excelled playing off the ball, creating space and getting her teammates involved, while also pushing the pace on fast breaks and converting and-one finishes that swung the momentum back in her team’s favor. On the defensive end, she used her length to disrupt, contest, and get stops that proved just as valuable as anything she did offensively.

Paige McKavish’s well-rounded game and versatility are a giant piece for Clarke County. I mentioned earlier, when talking about Paige’s sister Alainah, that Clarke County loves to get out and run. One of the things that makes it work is that both McKavish sisters have the length to rebound and the skill to push the ball after a board. Paige did that a number of times today. She had a huge sequence in the middle of the 3rd quarter that kick-started a Clarke County run that they never looked back from. She blocked a fast break lay-up, got the rebound, pushed it full court, then delivered a pass to Alainah that she could not convert. Paige still followed that miss, getting an and-1 putback lay-up. You get a two-way star in Paige, and she now has two state titles in her first two years. She finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.

Similar to her sister, Paige’s size and athleticism played a huge factor. Paige did well driving the ball, and she showed some fantastic vision. She had a handful of tough offensive rebounds, and I loved when she pushed off of misses.

Paige McKavish was one of the more productive freshmen in the state, and she did it on a state title-winning Clarke County team. Paige does a great job finishing in the paint and she does a nice job on the glass. She is solid defensively and can step out and hit jump shots. Paige has good vision and she is a good player all around early in her career. Paige was a second-team all-state selection in Class 2 and a first-team all-region selection.
