Payton already had division on offers but she exploded on the national radar this past AAU season. Her team played DME academy and she put on a show in front of a lot of power 5 coaches and the rest was history! Payton racked up a number of strong offers which a lot of the schools wanted her to attend school early. She decided to stay home and she reclassified to the 2024 class and now is at UVA!

Two years ago I told her dad she had “power 5 athleticism” now she is one of the coveted players in the state of Virginia! She went from 4 to 21 offers in a blink of an eye with some dominant performances versus some elite competition while playing with the NRV storm the first two AAU cycles. An elite prospect that can play all perimeter positions at a high level that holds multiple power 5 offers!

just finished up a massive weekend at the Apache, where she showed why so many D1 schools are going after her. Payton can score from all over the court efficiently, and she is really tough to stop at her size. She has a great jump shot and gets great lift on it. She uses her frame and athletic ability to haul in rebounds. She is a solid defender and understands the game at a high level. Payton is one of the early standouts this AAU season and is a player to watch.

After everyone kept talking about this athlete, I had to go back to watch the game vs DME on BallerTV! Yes, she caught my eye right from the beginning. She wins the jump ball, then she has a nice pull-up from the elbow to score the games first two points. Yes, she dropped 32 points yesterday against a really good DME team. Dunbar is a true 3-level scorer! A very efficient & consistent 3 level scoring threat too! The 6 footer has a nice vertical that can leap with the best of them! She is a truly impressive athlete that should have all eyes on her. If you are at the Apache Memorial, follow this athlete now. An extremely high IQ athlete that plays the game the right way. She does it all at a high level. Payton Dunbar checks off all of the boxes to play at the next level!

Long, athletic combo guard that can be a point forward as well at the next level. Tremendous upside, sees the floor very well, and has a very high ceiling.

is one of my favorite players to watch. She does a lot of things well and fills up the stat sheet. Her energy and competitive fire are fantastic. Even when Payton isn’t scoring a lot of her points, and her shot isn’t falling, she still finds ways to impact games. Payton is a combo guard, but her height allows her to play multiple positions. Her rebounding and defense are bright spots, and she has been impressive.

With her great size and length Payton has continued to show she’s one of the better players and athletes in the 2025 class! A true 6 foot combo guard that has shown explosive ability at times on the floor. Great in the open transition break, can make difficult shots in traffic, has proven that she can knock down the three pointer as well! Payton finished the season on a high note at NACA averaging 24 points a game to lead her team to a title!
