Payton was selected as the Gaylord Herald Times Girls Basketball POTY as a junior and she’s off to a stellar start for Gaylord St. Mary’s as a senior. Payton caught my attention with HB Elite in the spring and her dual-threat scoring ability stood out again at the Big North Shootout. She drives hard to the hoop for layups and has a dangerous stroke from three-point distance. Payton reached 1,000 career points in December and the Snowbirds are off to a 7-1 start.
