Production doesn’t lie. If you can produce at high rates, it’ll standout no matter what level you are playing at. Someone that has been a big time producer throughout the State for the past two season, who should be able to replicate that for another go-around this Winter is PG – Pyper Ickes Pyper Ickes 5'7" | PG St. Mary's | 2027 State NE . Ickes averaged 6 APG as a Sophomore with a 1.42 Assist-to-Turnover ratio. Both of those numbers are impressive. The second number is more important to me because it shows the positive number she brought to the floor. When PG’s are 1-1 in Assist-to-Turnover ratio or in the negative, it’s not a great sign but that’s not the case here. If Ickes continued to work this off-season, I can’t wait to see what she will do this season. It could be eye-opening.

The game that Pyper Ickes Pyper Ickes 5'7" | PG St. Mary's | 2027 State NE brings to the floor is interesting to say the least. Ickes competes as a guard for her St. Mary’s team and she moves between the PG and the SG position. From what I’ve seen this Winter, she primarily is sitting at the SG spot but it just depends on who else is on the court with her at the time. Offensively, Ickes is a high level distributor, she can score at the rim on the attack or off the catch on the outside the perimeter, and she can even post smaller opponents with her back to the basket. She doesn’t usually start there but if she notices the mismatch, she is quick in moving into the paint for a quick touch and easy bucket. St. Mary’s put together a year to remember this past three months and Ickes played a vital role in every aspect of the game. In this Update, Ickes comes in at the #41 spot moving into the Spring season.

In this win, they had a number of prospects post impressive stat lines but the one that stands out the most would be from Pyper Ickes Pyper Ickes 5'7" | PG St. Mary's | 2027 State NE . At the PG position, Ickes held her own and played very efficient basketball. She finished the night with 17 points on 6-9 shooting, she grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 9 assists, and took away 2 steals. This was an impressive showing from all parties involved. They had a big win and Ickes made her case for as to why she should be considered to be ranked within our next 2027 Class Update come March.

Someone to know out of the 2027 Class so far this Winter is Pyper Ickes Pyper Ickes 5'7" | PG St. Mary's | 2027 State NE from St. Mary’s. Ickes has been the PG, that everyone wants to be this Winter. She is helping her team run the offense, she is controlling how pace is being played around her, and she is finding her teammates at an extremely high rate. She is currently averaging 7.8 APG in her efforts and that says everything. It says that is doing what she can to make everyone else around her better, no matter the given situation. At this age, progression is still everything moving forward but I like what iv’e seen out of Ickes thus far.
