Rachel Fanning was impressive in how she played her role to perfection, consistently taking what the defense gave her and making smart decisions with the basketball. Offensively, she showed strong patience and poise, playing within herself and allowing the game to come to her. Off the ball, she moved well without it and was reliable in her spacing. Defensively, Fanning competed on the perimeter, stayed disciplined in her assignments, and showed good anticipation. She finished the night with 8 points, making timely contributions to winning basketball. As a freshman guard, Fanning is part of a promising young core for the Male (KY) girls basketball program and projects as a dependable two-way piece moving forward.
