Was leading the charge as her team took down a talented Westview squad. She finished with 13 points, 5 assists, and 3 boards. She hit two 3s down the stretch that extended her club’s lead, giving them confidence along the way. This team is used to postseason runs like this. Look for her to be an important piece of the puzzle as they advance closer to bringing the state crown home.

This kid is a go-getter and has been that way ever since she started at York. Versatile athlete who competes from tip to the final whistle. She contributes across all phases of the game: 15 ppg, 5 rpg, 4 apg, 2 spg. Her presence on the floor really disrupts opponents. She is a Carson-Newman signee who is leaving a strong legacy. A kid who has contributed to the building blocks of this program, she will be remembered for her tenacity and style of play.

Like her teammate Cooper, senior Raylle Werener has been a superb defender this season.

Werner has had a ton of games with two or more steals. Also at the PG position she has some upside as a post defender. In a game against Mountain Brook she had three blocks.

On offense Werner is a good attacker of the rim. She is good at changing pace, to help create space to help open up lanes to the basket, where she can then score.

A dynamic ballplayer who is a fantastic creator. She can score from all-three levels, but what impresses me more is how she gets her teammates involved. She can take her girl off the dribble or spot up along the arc and knock down the 3-ball at a high clip. She is heading to TN Tech next year, where she will surely add athleticism to their roster. This kid is solid on both ends of the floor and will look to lead Pickett Co. back to state contention this season.

The first thing that stands out about Raylee Werner Raylee Werner 5'8" | SG York Institute | 2026 State TN is her crossover. By using this alone, she is able to generate a multitude of avenues to score. She has. A great three-point shot that she can step to if given the space, and she can drive to the basket when shifting a defender.

On defense, she is a pest on the perimeter. She just won’t go away. This comes from her ability to see the game at a high level and the overall speed and shiftiness she has as a player.

I LOVE the way that Raylee plays the game! She’s incredibly smart, and fun to watch. She has elite court vision, and she will make the right play! She does a good job getting her teammates involved. She is extremely unselfish! She has great handles, and she knows how to make things happen on the court. Werner is an outstanding two-way player. She averaged 4.5 assists, 3.3 steals, 1.8 deflections, and 3 rebounds per game during the live event. This one is going to play at the next level, and she is going to standout!

Plays with relentless energy, understand the flow of the game along with pace and space. She is a heady ball player who can exploit defenses. She can attack the rim or spot up along the arc to knock it down from deep. Always has her head on a swivel and makes the right reads. She is solid defensively and utilizes her length to cause havoc. Had a tremendous year where she was so impactful. Look for her to build upon this performance and be ready to come out next season strong.

Her role has increased with her batterymate Reese out for the year. Raylee has stepped it up in the scoring column and contributed on the boards. Her court vision is pretty impressive and she has been dropping dimes to open teammates like crazy. Something also different this season is her ability to strap it up on the defensive end. She is averaging 2-3 steals a game and those opportunities have been leading to pivotal transitional buckets down the stretch. Keep an eye out for this young lady as the district play unfolds.

Raylee Werner Raylee Werner 5'8" | SG York Institute | 2026 State TN is an awesome PG. She’s got a high level skill set as a shifty ball handler, defender, facilitator and scorer. She has been the starting PG at York since she got to High School, she has immense experience playing at a high level against high level opponents. She’s an elite penetrator and is adept at slivering through tiny spaces to get to the rim. Makes the right rim reads once she gets into the paint–score, spray to shooter, or bounce to the big. Has made great strides as a three point shooter. Elite level defender. Also averaged over 6 rebounds a game for Trotters Williams. Big time rebounder from the PG spot.

Does a lot of things really well. Impactful defender that understands the value of real effort. Willing to sacrafice her body for loose balls. Does a tremendous job moving her feet, and great instincts drawing charges. High level passer with great vision. Truly knows the game, and knows what’s about to happen before it actually does. Does a terrific job changing speeds and levels on the off the bounce. Tremendous ball handler. Really improved as a scorer, and is a high level finisher. Becoming more consistent from three.
