Turner and 4-seed Rural Special pulled out a tough win against 1-seed Wonderview in the first round. Wonderview was a 1A title contender, and after Turner’s incredible 26-point performance, Rural Special’s odds have improved.

It was clear that the opposition could not stop Turner. She can easily get going from beyond the arch, using a quick release and possessing unlimited range. On the fastbreak, Turner will finish through any contact that comes her way.

Turner is a fantastic 3-point shooter. She is deadly off the catch but even better off the dribble. Turner is a shooting threat as soon as she crosses half court, because she can get into a groove by walking down and pulling up from distance. It is likely Rural Special will play Greers Ferry Westside in the district tournament championship, and they have already seen her light up the scoreboard as she had 29 points against them earlier this season.

Rayleigh Turner Rayleigh Turner 5'8" | SF Rural Special | 2025 State AR is not an underrated player as far as the 2025 rankings are concerned, but she is not talked about enough when discussing the 1A-2 conference. I understand that Greers Ferry Westside warrants a lot of discussion, but Turner is a North Arkansas College commit for a reason.

Turner has been consistent for her team throughout the season, but she started on a hot streak. During Rural Special’s 9-1 start to the year, Turner had some great performances, including the 19-point, 10-rebound outing versus Pangburn. She also had a masterful game against Nemo Vista, recording 14 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block.

Most recently, Turner had near-double-double performances against Melbourne and Marshall, displaying her impact on both the scoring and rebounding fronts. She drives hard to the basket, scoring most of her points in the paint, but she can step out and hit a mid-range or 3-point shot. Some of her scoring also comes from her work on the defensive end.

In the game against Marshall, Turner had 2 steals, and she generated scoring opportunities from those newfound possessions. Against Marshall, she showed that she can block some shots, recording 2 on the evening.

A do-it-all player for Rural Special High School, and perhaps the best all-around player in the 1A classification. Turner has been in the AR Prep Girls Hoops system for a couple of years now, and I would not be surprised if she continues to impress as a senior.

Most evaluators on this site have talked a lot about Turner’s offense, and I do not blame them. She plays with tremendous basketball IQ. She can attack the basket, hit her outside shots, draw fouls and convert at the free throw line. She can also rebound, pass, and handle the ball well. Honestly, I am more impressed with Turner’s defensive potential.

Turner has shown on multiple occasions to force turnovers from the other team. She is very active on defense and moves her feet quickly in order to stay in front of her assignment. Turner does not hesitate to poke a ball away or to jump on loose balls to take it the other way. She is also an impressive shot blocker. She waits for the perfect moment to jump up and swat shots away, and does so without fouling.
