Expert Analysis
Jill Dunn | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Hartzell had an elite day at the camp. She was knocking down shots on the perimeter and making plays off the dribble. She displayed nice form and consistency throughout the entire day. When her defenders would take away the outside shot Rebecca was able to get past them and make solid decisions with the ball. Her swagger and confidence was hard for her opponents to match which was evident by her being named the MVP of the 2026 class. She is committed to play at the next level at Rider University in New Jersey.

A few days ago, Hartzell announced she landed an offer from Young Harris in the north Georgia mountains. She plays for a South Wake team that is one of the premier homeschool teams in the state – and the Sabres won last season’s NCHEAC state championship. Hartzell led the way in that contest with 22 points, seven rebounds and four steals. The most recent offer she received is in addition to previous offers Hartzell received from Ferrum College and Johnson & Wales. She averaged 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.7 steals a contest in 2024-25.

There is no greater skill in the game of basketball than for a player to have the ability to shoot the ball. Rebekah is a knock down shooter. She can shoot it off the dribble or off the catch. She has shown that she is an unselfish player that can and will look to get her teammates easy baskets. Defensively, she is not afraid to defend and she creates turnovers with her energy.
