Desouze had me drop that #D1Lock on her in the 4th grade, see evaluation here because I saw the future based on her “poise under pressure” how she did things instinctively, as well as how she reacted in certain situations but guess what, along the way she had a growth spurt both on and off the court and although I haven’t seen her in 3 years, others have been keeping an eye on her see evaluations here

Speedy guard. As a defender she made life very hard on the opposition. Is nearly as good on offense, with outstanding handles. And had tough shotmaking off the dribble. Heated up a bit in the second half. Helping Legion Prep pour it on with a stepback in the mid-range and smooth triples.

Rieyan DeSouze was the best PG that I saw compete this weekend at the Kansas City Clash event. DeSouze is a shifty and quick guard, that has the ball on a string when she is coming down the floor or running her team’s offense in the half-court. She demonstrated during each contest that she is a handful to defend in 1v1 situations and that’s just the beginning of it. She has a nasty cross over, great counter moves, and her touch on the basketball when she is getting to the rim is next level in every way imaginable. I had the chance to sit down and watch DeSouze’s 2025 3SSB team compete twice over the past few days and both times, she had moments that made me audibly out loud say “wow”. She showed that she can do everything asked of her at a high rate and she leads by example. Two things that you need out of your starting PG if you want to be successful against any competition you might face. I’m not sure which colleges have interest in her at this point but I would be shocked if she doesn’t have a ton of D1 offers at this point. She was fantastic as a prospect this weekend and I hope that she rides that momentum moving into the future.

TTY’s 3SSB team played fast from the jump, which makes it even more impressive how much the quicker guard was able to still stand out from a pure pace perspective. She’s a change of pace guard with a great mid-range pull up that further makes her an even tougher cover. Her combination of pace and control via her tight handles gives the rising sophomore a very bright future.

Desouze was THE ONE I just knew would create some problems when she was in I guess the 2nd or 3rd grade at a Prime Time event which is perfect because the game will always start at THE 1. Her ability to run a team and control the tempo has elevated as she understands how to get her teammates involved early yet don’t blink because she can also score both off the dribble as well as from the outside

#5 Desouze was yet another player I knew that had D1 written all over her, in the 3rd grade. Everything I say is documented and based on her mannerisms competing against much older players, I knew what was coming. She understands how to control the tempo and get her teammates involved yet in a blink of an eye, she can going on a scoring barrage by putting the ball in the basket multiple ways
