Coach Johnette Walker has landed another top-tier in-state talent. Wallace is the latest that will call Newberry College home for her collegiate career. She played her final season at the high school level with a Dorman team that finished 21-5, compiled a perfect 14-0 record to win its region and advanced to the 5A Division 1 Upper State semifinals. One of four seniors set to graduate from Dorman, Wallace helped the Cavaliers to the tune of 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.2 steals per contest. Dorman was one of the teams to beat in the 5A Division 1 ranks as evidenced by the run the Cavaliers made to the Upper State semifinals. Wallace is one of four that is part of Dorman’s 2026 graduating class. In late February, Wallace would join the 1,000-point club for her career – one that dates back to her playing at the varsity level as an eighth grader. She played in 26 games this past season at Dorman and averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game. Also known as “Ri”. Ri has her name all over the stat sheet at Dorman this season. She is second in scoring and rebounds but leads the team in assist and steals. She has a silky-smooth pullup jumper. It is actually one of the best I have seen this season. Wallace can elevate and shoot the pull up at a very high clip. She also does a good job attacking downhill.

Those collegiate coaches also had to be impressed with what they saw from Wallace. The veteran point guard will be entering her senior season with 5A Division 1 Dorman. She is a fearless and ferocious attacker of the rim and can get crafty with how she gets those two points at the cup. Those finishes can lead to contact being drawn and trips to the free throw line ensuing. Wallace is also one of the more efficient rebounders among guards and she has a knack for making the right passes at the right times. En route to a 20-8 record last season with the Cavaliers, Wallace averaged 12.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.7 steals in 26 contests last season.

Wallace is one of those many prospects that has only improved with experience from her early days at 3A Woodruff. An integral element of the nucleus at 5A Division 1 Dorman, she understands the art of delivering strong finishes at the rim. It also helps that she has plenty of speed, quickness and court vision as well. Wallace plays with a high basketball IQ and can be in the right places at the right times to make the correct plays. We have chronicled the bulk of her career here at Prep Girls Hoops and it is hard to believe she will be entering her senior campaign with the Cavaliers when we tip off in November.
