Expert Analysis
Angie Saiter | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Blankenship, who recently was awarded All- Conference Player of the Year, had a stellar sophomore season averaging 18.1 PPG, along with 4.6 RPG. While she has D1 offers, Riley has such a high ceiling! She is one that can put on a shooting clinic, catches the ball and launches, and has such a solid change of direction with the rock.

What more can be said about Blankenship’s game on the court? As a 6 foot combo guard, she can do it all! She demonstrated this weekend that she can put the ball on the floor and attack the rim finishing with ease while also stepping out and hitting the three-pointer. Blankenship seems to always rise to the challenge when facing a tough opponent and shining when the lights are brightest! She has a pure stroke from deep and also loves to crash the glass and push the ball in transition. Blankenship continues to show more improvement in her game each day as she continues to catch the eyes of many college coaches and talent evaluators!

College coaches are learning quite a bit about Blankenship’s game! She came away with some D1 offers this summer for several reasons: Riley’s fundamentals, ability to handle pressure while scoring, and maintain a calm approach any time she’s on the court is highly pleasant to watch!

Riley is putting on a clinic in front of a lot of coaches! Her cross over step back 3’s are just unstoppable! Beautiful ball fakes- fundamentals are next level. Terrific passer, and her intensity never dims. (Below in purple)

Blankenship makes difficult shots look easy- not very often does she have a clear view of the basket because opponents are well aware of her offensive damage! She displays emotional toughness/ poise when face guarded.

What a freshman season for this incredible talented baller! What a great passer with great court vision and you would never know she is a freshman, she plays much older than her year, She can score in all three aspects of the game, tenacious defender and just gets the job done, She moves up to #7! Blankenship had a target on her back every game- as a freshman! Without question, a future D1 caliber player who drops pretty dimes, makes an impact on both ends of the ball, and she finds a way to score- regardless of double teaming defense. She is a certified bucket!

There’s no stopping this kid on the court. Her talent level for a freshman is off the charts! Super skilled, great handles and plays the game with a lot of poise for someone so new to the varsity level. Nice smooth mid range jumper! Her ceiling is unlimited.

I know Angie loves this player and Riley debuts at #7. Riley has the skills, work ethic, and basketball IQ to do serious damage to opposing teams. She has so many offensive weapons in her pocket to choose from- quick jab moves to the bucket, solid outside shooter, creates open looks for her teammates through dribble penetration, and she doesn’t get rattled! She’s in a league of her own! At 5’11, this PG/ SG has a very high ceiling.
