She defends well, and her game will fit nicely at the next level. Riley was a first-team all-conference selection in the WCAC.

has been one of the top players in the state for 2025 throughout her high school career at PVI. Riley can play as a guard or wing, and I’ve seen her play a lot of PG for PVI. Riley does a great job attacking the rim and has worked on her jump shot a lot, and she is now a reliable shooter. Throughout her time at PVI, Riley has taken the responsibility of guarding the opposing team’s best perimeter scorer. She is a versatile defender and can fit in almost any situation. Riley will be possibly the most important player on PVI.

A top 10 player in the state has always played at a high level at a great Paul VI program! Has been a key contributor in her high school career. At 6 feet she has the skills and the size that will translate to the next level. Was highly recruited with the combination of high school and AAU she will be headed to Villanova university next season!

on my most versatile defenders list because she can cover four positions. I see Riley as being much more of a high-level perimeter defender at the next level, so I felt she would be better here. Riley has good length and is a pretty good athlete. The Villanova Commit has taken the responsibility of guarding some of the best perimeter scorers in the country.

2025′ PVI Riley Hamburger
Hamburger leads the charge for a reloaded PVI squad that had a solid showing at DMV Live, going 3-1 with their only loss to a loaded Catholic (VA) squad. Hamburger displayed her versatility all weekend, standing at a solid 6’1″, the rising senior handled a lot of the point guard duties for her team. Hamburger’s ability to get downhill and finish at the rim, combined with a smooth jump shot, makes her a formidable offensive threat from all areas of the court. On defense, Hamburger can guard any position, consistently taking on toughest matchups on the opposing squad demonstrating her defensive prowess.

came up clutch for PVI. Riley’s offensive game has steadily improved over the past few years, and she showed it in the game against Friends Central. PVI battled back into this game, and Riley was a massive reason why. She got to the rim and showed off her jump shot, hitting all three threes. She finished with 22 points and 8 rebounds and then had the game-icing layup.

‘s role will undoubtedly be more significant this year on the offensive end. She has been a tremendous defender her first two years at PVI and has been the player they call on to guard the team’s best perimeter player. Riley has become a solid spot-up shooter and uses her length and skill to get to the rim. Riley is becoming a complete offensive player, and with PVI losing three starters, she will have to score more this year. She made a jump going into her Sophomore year last year, and I expect her to take another one this year.

provided her usual defensive effort. She scored 15 in both games on Saturday and knocked down 3 of her 7 three-point attempts. It’s a small sample size, but she looks ready to take on a more significant offensive role, and her jump shot looks like it’s coming along.

Last year Riley’s biggest contribution to PVI was her defense. They stuck on her as the opposing team’s best perimeter player, and she often did a fantastic job at limiting whoever she was guarding. I expect her offensive responsibility to be more significant going forward, and it’s something to look out for. Riley’s a pretty good driver and finishes through contact nicely, so if she can add a consistent jump shot, she will be a fantastic offensive player.
